Miking Challenging Wardrobe: Has New Tech Made it Easier?

I'm an AD, and we're constantly running into issues with challenging wardrobe on set. For an upcoming project (a period drama with lots of heavy wool coats, then a sports commercial shoot right after with super tight athletic wear) I'm really trying to figure out the best approach for sound.

Historically, these kinds of costumes are a nightmare for our sound mixers. We've tried various placements, moleskin, surgical tape, all the usual tricks. With the advancements in miniature lavs (like the DPA 6060), improved wireless systems, and even AI de-noising options in post, I'm genuinely curious: how has this new tech changed your approach to miking talent in these traditionally difficult wardrobe types? Are there any specific tools, techniques, or even just general workflows you've found to be absolute game-changers for getting clean audio in these situations? My mixer usually runs an 888, so we have good baseline gear, but it's the placement that always kills us.
