When does the 'textbook' collaborative pipeline fall apart?
Hey everyone,
I'm Darius Pope, a Best Boy Electric, and I'm genuinely trying to get a handle on this. We're on a pretty fast-paced commercial shoot right now, got a bunch of Orbiter lights and an ALEXA Mini, and half the team is remote for post. We're trying to keep everything super organized, naming conventions for footage, version control for edits, the works. It's what all the tutorials preach.
But I'm starting to wonder, when does that 'perfect' system actually break down? Like, in the real world, with tight deadlines, unexpected issues with a LS 600d Pro, or just human error across different time zones? We're trying our best, but I can feel the pressure mounting. Is there a point where you just have to ditch some of the 'textbook' methods to get the job done?
What are your experiences? When do you find yourselves compromising that ideal pipeline to hit a deadline, especially with remote collaborators?
