AI Gen vs. Blockchain Airdrops: Lasting Impact for Indie Filmmakers?
Hey everyone,
Lucas here, Gaffer by trade. I'm always trying to keep an eye on what's coming next, especially anything that might help indie productions. We just wrapped a short where we stretched every penny, lighting primarily with an Orbiter and a couple of PavoTube II 30X, pushing an AMIRA hard.
Lately, I've been seeing a lot of chatter about AI tools like Runway and Sora, and then on the other side, blockchain stuff, specifically 'airdrops' for funding or community. I've messed around with some basic AI art tools for mood boards, and it's wild, but I haven't touched the blockchain side at all.
From a practical, day-to-day perspective for independent filmmakers trying to get projects off the ground or finish them efficiently, which of these '2026' trends do you genuinely see having the most lasting impact? Or is one more likely to be a short-lived fad? Really curious to hear your thoughts.
