Scalable Asset Libraries: Capturing Micro-Content from Day One?
Hey everyone,
I'm a focus puller and increasingly, client asks are moving beyond just the main narrative. They want social cutdowns, GIF-able moments, behind-the-scenes for marketing, you name it. We're talking about consciously capturing a 'scalable asset library' from the get-go.
On my last gig with an ALEXA Mini and a set of Supreme Primes, shooting for a lifestyle brand, we spent so much time in post trying to retroactively pull these micro-content pieces. It felt clunky and inefficient. We tried flagging some shots during pre-pro, but on set, things always evolve.
So, my question for the community is this: How have you practically adapted the 'scalable asset library' concept into your pre-production planning and on-set shooting process to ensure you capture these micro-content pieces from day one? I'm talking about tangible workflows, not just theoretical ideas. Are you using specific shot lists for social? Designating a second unit? I'm genuinely trying to streamline this.
