VFX for Short Film

Hey fellow filmmakers, Frank Navarro here, Transportation Coordinator on an exciting upcoming independent production. We're on the hunt for a talented mid-level Visual Effects Artist to join our team for a short, character-driven sci-fi drama. It's a suspenseful piece with a psychological edge, aiming for a festival run. We've got some cool, subtle practical effects, but need a skilled hand to blend them with our digital additions, primarily for atmospheric enhancements and a few creature/environmental integrations. Your key responsibilities will include compositing, motion tracking, roto, and potentially some basic 3D modeling or animation, depending on your skillset. We're looking for someone who can bring a strong aesthetic to understated visual effects, enhancing the story rather than overwhelming it. Please have your own software and workstation. You should have at least 2-3 years of experience in film or commercial VFX, and a strong reel showcasing your best work is essential. Shoot dates are tentatively set for late May early June in Los Angeles, spanning about 5-7 days. Post-production will follow, with a flexible schedule for VFX work. This is a volunteer position, but we'll provide meals on set, a copy of the final film for your reel, and great networking opportunities. Let's make something awesome together!
