1st AC (Camera Assistant) for Narrative Short

Hey filmmakers, Luis here. We're gearing up for an exciting narrative short film, a gritty, character-driven drama set right here in Albuquerque. Think dark comedy meets neo-noir, with a visually rich cinematic style. We're looking for a sharp 1st AC, an integral part of our small, dedicated crew. You'll be responsible for maintaining focus, pulling focus during takes, organizing and cleaning camera equipment, changing lenses, and assisting the Director of Photography on set to ensure smooth operation. We need someone who's super detail-oriented and proactively anticipates needs. Experience on at least a few short films or independent productions is a must, and please have a reel or a brief portfolio of your work ready to share. We're looking for someone who can bring their own follow focus unit and a basic matte box, if possible, but we can discuss gear. Our shoot is tentatively scheduled for 4-5 days in late June, early July, with 10-12 hour days. We'll provide craft services, lunch, and a positive, collaborative set environment.
