1st AC for Austin Sci-Fi Web Series (Deferred Pay)

When a brilliant coder wakes up with no memory of his past, he must piece together fragments of his life to stop a global catastrophe. We're looking for a dedicated 1st AC to join our independent production, a 6-episode sci-fi web series filming in Austin. This is a character-driven thriller with a moody aesthetic, full of practical effects and nuanced performances. You'll be working closely with our DP to maintain focus, manage lens changes, and assist with camera setup and breakdown. Key responsibilities include pulling sharp focus, building and disassembling camera rigs, and organizing camera and lens packages. We need someone who can work efficiently on set and anticipate the DP's needs. You should have a strong understanding of camera operation, especially with mirrorless or cinema cameras like the Sony A7SIII or FX3, and be comfortable with various lenses. Please have a reliable focus-pulling system (monitor, wireless follow focus) and a basic tool kit. Experience on other narrative projects, even student films, is a plus. Shoot dates are approximately 10-12 days over June and July, primarily on weekends, and some weeknights. We're providing craft services and meals.
