Screenwriting for Feature Film

Feature Film Screenwriting Brooklyn, NY any Budget: $1000-1500/day

Hey filmmakers, I'm looking for a talented Script Editor to join an exciting independent production. We're developing a sci-fi feature, a character-driven story with a grounded, near-future tone. Think 'Arrival' meets 'Ex Machina' in terms of its intimate scale and intellectual depth. This isn't a blockbuster, it's a smart, thought-provoking piece that needs a sharp eye to really elevate the narrative. Your main responsibilities will involve constructive feedback on character arcs, pacing, dialogue naturalism, and overall story structure. You'll be working closely with me to refine the screenplay, ensuring every beat lands. I need someone with a strong understanding of screenwriting principles and a passion for sci-fi. Experience with feature-length narratives is a major plus, and while I'm open to all experience levels, a proven track record (even on smaller projects) is always helpful. Please include a brief reel or portfolio of your previous work, ideally showcasing your ability to provide nuanced editorial feedback or examples of scripts you’ve helped develop. This is a paid position, offering $1000-1500 per day, dependent on experience. The work will primarily be remote, with occasional in-person meetings in Brooklyn, NY, as needed. We're aiming to begin pre-production in the late fall, so the script editing phase will likely happen over the next 2-3 months on a flexible schedule. Excited to hear from you.
