Feature Film Screenwriter (NY) - Deferred Pay

Hey all, I'm Elena, a Script Coordinator working on an independent feature, and we're looking for a screenwriter to help develop our script. It's a dark comedy, kind of in the vein of a Coen Brothers film but with a touch more surrealism, exploring themes of existential dread and the absurdity of modern life in a grounded, character-driven way. We've got a solid outline and some initial scene drafts, but we need someone with a knack for dialogue and a strong sense of story structure to really bring it all together. Your responsibilities would primarily involve script development, including character arcs, refining dialogue, and scene rewrites based on feedback sessions with the director and producers. We're open to writers at any experience level, so whether you're just starting out or have a few credits under your belt, we'd love to see your work. This is a deferred pay position, common for independent productions, where compensation will be back-end once the film secures distribution.
