Production Designer, Sci-Fi Thriller Pilot (deferred)

Hey everyone, I'm Destiny Brooks, a stills photographer, and I'm helping an independent production find a Production Designer for an upcoming pilot. It's a really cool sci-fi thriller with a dark, psychological edge, think 'Black Mirror' meets 'Annihilation.' We're aiming for a strong, distinctive visual style that emphasizes atmospheric tension and a sense of unease. We need someone to lead the visual aesthetics of the project. Your key responsibilities will include conceptualizing and executing the overall look of the sets, props, and locations, collaborating closely with the director and DP to translate script elements into a compelling visual language. This includes everything from mood boards and concept art to sourcing and dressing. We're open to all experience levels, from seasoned pros looking for an interesting indie project to enthusiastic newcomers eager to build their portfolio. While we don't expect you to bring your own specialized gear, a strong portfolio or reel showcasing your design vision and capabilities is a must. Shoot dates are tentatively set for late July/early August in Los Angeles. This is an intense, but rewarding project, requiring full commitment during the production period. We're offering deferred compensation, with the understanding that this is a passion project with significant festival and distribution potential. We'll provide craft services and a great collaborative environment.
