Senior Production Designer, Sci-Fi Short (Atlanta)

Seeking an experienced Production Designer for an upcoming independent sci-fi short film taking place in Atlanta, GA. This project explores themes of isolation and humanity's resilience in a visually stunning, near-future setting, with a tone that's both melancholic and hopeful. We're aiming for a strong festival run. Your main responsibilities will include bringing the director’s vision to life through set design, location scouting, prop acquisition, and overseeing a small art department. We need someone who can craft compelling environments that feel lived-in and futuristic on a practical level, not just digitally. We're looking for a seasoned professional with a strong portfolio showcasing previous short film or indie feature work, particularly within the sci-fi or elevated genre space. While we'll provide a budget for materials and a small art team, you'll need to be resourceful and creative within those parameters. Shoot dates are tentatively set for late July/early August, 10-12 hour days, for approximately 3 weeks. Compensation is $2000-3000/week, commensurate with experience.
