Senior Editor, Supernatural Thriller Short Film

Hey everyone. I'm Alana, a VFX Compositor working on an independent short film, a supernatural thriller with psychological horror elements. We're looking for a highly experienced Senior Editor to join our post-production team here in Vancouver. This is going to be a captivating project with a complex narrative structure and a lot of room for creative storytelling in the edit. Think subtle scares and building tension through pacing and sound design integration. We need someone who can truly shape the film, working closely with the director to realize their vision. Key responsibilities include assembling footage, refining cuts, incorporating visual effects (which I'll be handling!), and potentially overseeing color grading and sound mixing. You'll need your own editing workstation and software (preferably Adobe Premiere Pro) and a strong portfolio demonstrating your experience with narrative shorts, especially in the thriller or horror genres. We're looking for someone with a sharp eye for detail, excellent storytelling instincts, and a proven track record. We anticipate starting post-production in late April and aiming for a final cut by late June. This will be a part-time commitment, roughly 20-30 hours a week, and we'll be working out of a shared co-working space in Gastown. We'll provide all raw footage and project assets.
