Assistant Editor, Feature Film (paid)

Hey film fam, I'm David, an editor currently cutting an independent feature and I'm looking for a reliable Assistant Editor to join our team in Los Angeles. This is a dramatic thriller with some comedic elements, a really character-driven story that delves into some dark but ultimately hopeful territory. This is a great opportunity to get hands-on experience on a full-length movie. Your main gig will be ingest, syncing footage and audio, organizing media within our Premiere Pro project, and handling initial exports for director's cuts. You'll also be prepping sequences for sound mixing, color, and VFX turnovers. We're looking for someone with a solid grasp of Premiere Pro, an eagle eye for detail, and a good understanding of post-production workflows. While this is an entry-level position, some prior experience assisting on projects, even shorts, is a plus. Please share a brief resume or list of relevant projects. We're looking at a 6-8 week commitment, 8-10 hour days, typically Monday-Friday, starting in late May/early June. We'll provide all the necessary editing equipment and software.
