Gaffer (Best Boy Electric) for Drama Short

Short Film Production Toronto, ON mid Budget: $500-800/day

Hey Toronto film community, I'm crewing up for an upcoming independent dramatic short film and looking for a talented Gaffer (also open to a strong Best Boy Electric stepping up). This project is a poignant story about family, loss, and reconciliation, with a naturalistic, intimate tone. We’ll be shooting in interiors and exteriors, focusing on creating subtle, impactful lighting. Key responsibilities include collaborating with the DP on lighting setups, managing and safely operating all electrical equipment, and leading a small lighting team. You'll be crucial in shaping the visual mood of our film. We need someone with mid-level experience, ideally with a strong portfolio showcasing dramatic work. You should have your own basic kit (monitors, stands, some minor grip gear), but we'll be renting a full lighting package. Please have your own transportation. Shoot dates are approximately 4-5 days dispersed over two weeks in late September, early October. Days will generally be 10-12 hours. We'll provide craft services, meals, and a generally chill, professional set. Send over your resume and a link to your reel/portfolio. Looking forward to hearing from you!
