VFX for Short Film

Hey filmmakers of Portland! I'm Chloe, a Production Designer, and I'm looking for a talented VFX artist to join our team for an upcoming independent short film. It's a sci-fi drama with surreal elements, focusing on a character grappling with a strange technological anomaly. We're looking for someone creative who can help bring a key visual effect to life - think subtle, atmospheric effects rather than huge explosions. Your primary responsibility will be designing and executing a series of visual effects shots, blending them with our practical footage. This will involve elements like light distortion, atmospheric particles, and minor digital set extensions. Experience with compositing software (After Effects, Nuke, Fusion, etc.) is a must, and please have a reel showcasing your work. We're open to all experience levels, from emerging artists to seasoned pros. Anticipated shoot dates are early to mid-September, likely 1-2 days of on-set supervision if needed, and then remote post-production work. Compensation is $250 per day (flat rate). We'll provide all necessary footage and clear artistic direction. Looking forward to seeing your work!
