Production for Short Film

Hey team, my name is Simone, I'm a 2nd AD and I'm currently crewing up an indie sci-fi drama short, working title 'The Signal.' It's a really cool, atmospheric piece with a strong focus on practical effects and evocative lighting to build tension. We're looking for an experienced Gaffer to join our crew. You'll be leading our lighting department, working closely with the DP to achieve the film's distinct visual style. This role involves managing equipment, overseeing set-ups, and ensuring all safety protocols are met. We need someone with a strong technical background, a great eye, and a proven track record. Please have a reel or extensive portfolio showcasing your work on similar genre projects. Shoot dates are TBD but looking at late October, early November, likely 3-4 days including a prep day, standard 10-12 hour days. We'll be shooting in and around Vancouver. Gear will be mostly rental house sourced but experience with specific lighting packages is a plus. Compensation is 1000-1500/day, depending on experience.
