Camera Assistant, Feature Doc
Hey everyone, I'm gaffing an independent documentary project here in Vancouver and we're looking for a dedicated Camera Assistant to join our small, passionate crew. This film dives into the vibrant world of urban gardening and community resilience, exploring how local initiatives are transforming city spaces. It's a really uplifting story with a visually rich, naturalistic style. We're looking for someone who can help keep our camera department running smoothly. Your main responsibilities will include managing and organizing camera gear, assisting with lens changes and pulls, setting up and striking equipment, and charging batteries. Basic DIT tasks might come up too, so experience with data wrangling is a plus. We'll be primarily shooting on a Sony FX9 with a small package of prime lenses. We need someone with at least a couple of credits as a Camera Assistant, reliable transportation to different shoot locations around Vancouver, and a good understanding of camera department etiquette. Please send over a resume and let us know what gear you're comfortable with. Shoot dates are primarily weekends and some weekdays in July and August, generally 8-10 hour days. We'll be providing meals on set and a copy of the finished film for your reel.
