Gaffer for Indie Drama Feature, Montreal

Feature Film Production Montreal, QC senior Budget: DOE

Hey everyone, my name is Nadine, and I'm a Script Supervisor on a great indie feature shooting in Montreal, and we're on the hunt for a Gaffer. This is a dramatic character piece, a grounded story with some really intimate cinematography planned. We're looking for someone who can help us achieve a nuanced, naturalistic someone who really understands how to sculpt light to enhance emotional depth. We're on a tight budget, so creativity and resourcefulness are key, but we're also aiming for a really solid visual quality. You'll be responsible for supervising the lighting crew, executing the lighting plan, and obviously bringing your own gear package. We need someone with significant feature film experience at the gaffer level, and a solid reel is a must. Shoot dates are approximately late fall into early winter, mostly 10-12 hour days. We'll provide craft services and some travel stipend if you're coming from out of town. Let's make some beautiful cinema!
