Entry-Level Director, Independent Feature Film

Feature Film Directing Montreal, QC entry Budget: $1000-1500/day

Hey everyone, Nadine here (script supervisor, you might know me from set). We're looking for an enthusiastic, entry-level Director for an upcoming independent feature film shooting here in Montreal. It's a dramatic thriller with some comedic undertones, really character-driven and has a unique visual style we're hoping to achieve. We're looking for someone with a fresh perspective and a strong storytelling voice. Key responsibilities include leading the creative vision, collaborating closely with the DP and actors, and guiding the overall tone of the film. You'll be expected to work effectively within our independent film structure, making creative decisions under pressure. We need someone with some prior directing experience, even if it's on shorts or music videos, and a great reel showcasing your narrative work. You won't need to bring your own gear, as all necessary production resources will be provided. The approximate shoot dates are late fall/early winter, likely a 15-20 day schedule. We're aiming for standard 10-12 hour shoot days. This is a paid position, offering $1000-1500 per day, dependent on experience and negotiation. We're excited to see what you can bring to this project!
