1st Assistant Director, Independent Feature Film
Seeking an experienced 1st Assistant Director for an intimate character-driven independent feature film. This project is a poignant drama with dark comedic undertones, exploring themes of family, loss, and redemption in a suburban setting. We're looking for someone who can help us maintain a cohesive and efficient set while fostering a creative atmosphere. Your primary responsibility will be to manage the shoot schedule, coordinate departmental activities, and ensure the production runs smoothly and on time. We need a proactive problem-solver who can anticipate challenges and keep us on track. You will be working closely with me, the Director, to translate our vision into a practical shooting plan. Candidates should have at least two independent feature film 1st AD credits and a strong understanding of set logistics for union and non-union talent, though this is a non-union production. While we are providing some essential equipment, your experience with call sheet software and production management tools will be crucial. Please send your resume, references, and a brief cover letter detailing your approach to set management. Shoot dates are approximately five weeks, starting late October/early November in and around Atlanta, GA. Expect 10-12 hour days. Lunch and crafty will be provided. Compensation is $250/day flat.
