Cinematography for Documentary

Documentary Cinematography Los Angeles, CA mid Budget: $2000-3000/week

Hey filmmakers, I'm helping out an independent production with their upcoming documentary and we're looking for a skilled A-Cam Operator. This project is a gritty, character-driven documentary exploring the underground art scene in various LA neighborhoods, with a focus on capturing raw, authentic moments. We're looking for someone who can really get in there and tell a story visually, making the mundane feel cinematic. Your main responsibilities will be operating the primary camera, ensuring consistent visual style, and collaborating closely with the DP and director. We need someone with a strong eye, excellent technical proficiency, and experience working on run-and-gun documentary sets. You'll need to provide your own camera package (Sony FX9 or similar, with a basic lens kit and support) and have a strong portfolio demonstrating your operational skills. Gear stipend for your camera package is included in the weekly rate. Shoot dates are approximately 4-5 weeks, starting mid-May. Expect 10-12 hour days, 5 days a week. We'll provide transportation to locations, catering, and on-set support. If you're a mid-career operator looking for a compelling project and can hit the ground running, send over your resume and reel. Weeklies are paid at $2000-3000, depending on experience and gear. Looking forward to seeing your work!
