Gaffer for Sci-Fi Pilot, LA

Hey everyone, I'm Tanya Volkov, a DP looking for a skilled Gaffer to join our team for an upcoming sci-fi pilot. This is a thrilling, character-driven story with a strong visual style, think early Nolan meets Black Mirror. We're aiming for a moody, high-contrast look that really sells the atmospheric tension. As our Gaffer, you'll be responsible for executing the lighting plan, managing the electric team, and ensuring we achieve the aesthetic vision. You'll be working closely with me to bring our cinematic ideas to life. You should have a strong understanding of various lighting techniques, power distribution, and safety protocols. Ideally, you'll have some of your own gear, especially specialty lights or grip equipment, but we'll also have a lighting package provided. All experience levels are welcome to apply, your passion and skill are what matters most. Please send over a reel or some work samples showcasing your lighting expertise. Shoot dates are flexible but currently penciled in for late April early May, approximately 3-4 shoot days. Long hours are expected on set, as is standard for independent productions. We're a small, dedicated crew and this is a deferred compensation project with backend percentage points for our key crew members.
