Senior Cinematographer (Documentary), Chicago
Hey everyone, I'm Robin, a storyboard artist putting out a call for a senior cinematographer for an upcoming independent documentary project here in Chicago. We're diving deep into the underground art scene, focusing on the stories of resilience and creative process. It's gritty, authentic, and has a strong visual aesthetic we want to capture, leaning into natural light and atmospheric storytelling. We're looking for someone with significant documentary experience, a strong visual voice, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. You'll be responsible for lighting, camera operation (we're shooting primarily on cinema primes, ideally you own or have access to a RED Komodo or similar), and collaborating closely with our director to translate their vision into compelling visuals. Your reel should clearly showcase your documentary work and ability to adapt to diverse shooting environments. Shoot dates are approximate, starting mid-July for about four to five weeks, standard 10-12 hour days. We'll be covering all travel within Chicago, meals on set, and providing a fantastic creative atmosphere. This is a paid position, $2000-3000 per week, depending on experience and gear contribution. Let's make something impactful together!
