First AC, Mid-Level, Short Film, NOLA

Hey, fellow filmmakers. I'm Antoine, a Camera Operator, and I'm putting together a crew for an upcoming narrative short film. It's a dark comedy, kind of a quirky heist story, with a fun, slightly absurd tone that will let us get pretty creative with the visuals. We're looking for a skilled First Assistant Camera to join our team in New Orleans. Your main responsibilities will include managing focus pulling, maintaining camera equipment, and assisting with setup and breakdown. You'll be working closely with me and the DP to ensure everything runs smoothly on set. We're looking for someone with around 2-3 years of experience on independent productions, particularly with cinema cameras. A solid understanding of lens theory and a strong work ethic are a must. Please have a reel or a list of relevant projects ready to share. We're covering camera and grip equipment, but if you have a useful monitor or specific tools, let me know. Shoot dates are tentatively planned for late August, for about 4-5 days, 10-12 hour days. This is a paid gig, $100-200/day, depending on experience. Come join us for a fun project!
