Camera Operator, Austin Doc Shoot
Hey all, I'm looking for a skilled Camera Operator for an upcoming independent documentary project in Austin. This film explores the vibrant, often overlooked, underground music scene here, focusing on emerging artists and unique venues. We're aiming for a raw, intimate, verité style, capturing candid moments and dynamic performances, so a keen eye for composition and natural lighting is key. Your responsibilities will primarily involve operating our main camera package, executing planned shots, and adapting quickly as scenes unfold. You'll work closely with the Director to achieve the desired visual aesthetic and contribute creatively to the visual storytelling. We need someone with mid-level experience in documentary filmmaking who ideally owns or has access to a reliable camera package (cinema camera preferred, e.g., FX3, C70, Blackmagic, with a basic lens kit). Please share your reel highlighting your operating work, particularly on doc projects if possible. We’ll be shooting predominantly in the evenings and on weekends, anticipating around 6-8 shoot days spread over late June/early July. We'll provide all necessary sound equipment, transportation to locations, and meals during shoot days. Daily rate is $250 flat. Excited to hear from you.
