Art Department for Short Film

We're an independent production seeking a talented Art Assistant for our upcoming short film, a sci-fi drama exploring themes of memory and identity. This project has a tight-knit crew and a visually compelling story we're excited to bring to life. As Art Assistant, you'll work closely with our Production Designer, helping with prop sourcing, set dressing, and general organization within the art department. Key responsibilities include assisting with prop management, set construction and breakdown, and ensuring visual continuity on set. We're looking for someone with a good eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and a willingness to jump in where needed. While prior art department experience is a plus, we're open to enthusiastic individuals at any experience level. Please share your availability and any relevant experience or a portfolio if you have one. Experience with basic prop fabrication or set decorating is a bonus. Shoot dates are TBD but will likely be 2-3 days in late June/early July, approximately 10-12 hour days. Located in NYC, transportation will not be provided, but meals and craft services will be. Compensation will be discussed during the interview process.
