Screenwriter, Dark Comedy Short (NY)

Hey folks, Nelson Ford here, a gaffer getting into producing an independent short film. I'm looking for a talented screenwriter to collaborate on an upcoming project. This is a dark comedy, kind of a twisted take on everyday anxieties, think Dryve or Something About Sarah. We've got a solid concept and some core ideas, now we need someone to really bring the script to life with sharp dialogue and a compelling narrative structure. Your main responsibility will be developing the complete screenplay from concept to shooting draft. We'll be working closely, so good communication is key. We're looking for someone with a strong voice and a knack for humor in unusual places. While this is an entry-level position, some experience writing short films or spec scripts is definitely a plus. Please share any writing samples you have, even if they're not fully produced. This is a partnership opportunity, meaning equity in the film, which we hope will have a strong festival run. Expected shoot dates are late summer/early fall, so there's plenty of time for development. We're open to remote work for the writing phase, with occasional meetings in NYC. Let's make something cool!
