Camera for Documentary

Hey team, Corey here. Need a seasoned Senior Camera Operator for an upcoming independent documentary series. It's a character-driven piece, looking into the subcultures of performance art in LA, think "street art meets Cirque du Soleil." We're aiming for a raw, intimate, verité style, capturing authentic moments. This isn't your typical sit-down interview doc, so flexibility and quick thinking are key. Your main responsibilities will include operating our primary camera, collaborating closely with the director, and ensuring consistent visual quality throughout. We're looking for someone who can work largely independently once briefed. You'll need to bring your own professional documentary camera package, including a solid lens kit, sound capabilities for scratch audio, and monitoring. We're budgeting for Arri or Sony FS7/FX9 level gear, please send a list of what you've got. Looking for someone with at least 5+ years experience on documentary shoots. A strong reel showcasing your work on similar genre pieces is essential, emphasizing your eye for natural light and handheld operating. Shoot dates are approximately 15-20 days spread over 4-6 weeks starting late August, mostly 10-12 hour days. Compensation is $300-500/day, depending on experience and gear. We'll handle craft services, transportation to and from locations, and any specialized production insurance needed. This is an exciting, passion-fueled project with a small, dedicated crew.
