Cinematography for Documentary

Documentary Cinematography London, UK entry Budget: $500-800/day

Hey filmmakers, I'm a Colorist working on an upcoming independent documentary feature and we're looking for a skilled Camera Operator to join our small, passionate crew. This project delves into the untold stories of London's underground music scene, presenting a gritty, intimate, and authentic look at its pioneers. We're aiming for a raw, observational style, capturing intimate moments and dynamic live performances without being intrusive. Your main responsibilities will include operating one of our primary cameras (likely a Sony FX6 or similar, which we provide), assisting with shot composition, and ensuring consistency in our visual storytelling. We need someone who can work independently and quickly adapt to fast-paced, unscripted environments. Ideal candidates will have some prior experience, even if entry-level, as a camera op on documentary or run-and-gun projects, and a strong visual reel showcasing your eye for natural light and compelling composition. While we provide the primary camera package, familiarity with various camera systems and basic lighting setups is a plus. Shoot dates are approximately 10-15 days spread across June and July, typically 8-10 hour days. Compensation is £500-800/day, depending on experience. Please send your reel and a brief cover letter outlining your relevant experience.
