Cinematography for Web Series

Our independent production is seeking a dedicated Gaffer for an upcoming sci-fi web series, a passion project with a dark, atmospheric tone and compelling narrative. We're building a visually striking world on a limited budget, and a skilled Gaffer will be crucial to achieving our ambitious look. You'll be responsible for designing and executing the lighting plans, working closely with the Cinematographer to shape the visual aesthetic, and managing our small lighting department. This includes setting up and striking lights, gels, flags, and diffusing materials. We're looking for someone with senior experience in lighting for film or video, a strong understanding of color temperature and practical lighting, and the ability to troubleshoot on set. While we can provide some basic lighting equipment, having access to additional gear (e.g., specific fixtures, modifiers) is a big plus. Please provide a link to your reel or portfolio showcasing your lighting work. Shoot dates are primarily weekends in July and August, mostly full days, in and around Vancouver, BC. We'll provide craft services and a great opportunity to collaborate on an exciting project. This is a volunteer position, ideal for someone eager to expand their portfolio and work on a cool indie production.
