Cinematography for Short Film

An independent production is seeking a skilled Gaffer to join our small, enthusiastic crew for an upcoming narrative short film. This is a dramatic exploration of memory and regret, with a visually driven tone, promising some really interesting lighting challenges. We're looking for someone who can help us achieve a moody, atmospheric aesthetic that truly elevates the story. Your primary responsibilities will include collaborating closely with the DP on lighting design, executing the lighting plan, managing the grip and electric team, and ensuring all sets are safely lit. We need someone with their own basic G&E package, including C-stands, flags, stingers, and a small lighting kit. Experience on similar micro-budget projects is a plus. Please share your reel or a portfolio showcasing your lighting work. Shoot dates are approximately late August or early September 2026 (3-4 days), mainly 10-12 hour days. We'll provide craft services and meals on set.
