Directing for Feature Film

Montreal based, independent feature film shooting approximately 20 days in the first half of September 2026 is seeking a passionate Director. This is a dramatic, character-driven arthouse piece exploring themes of identity and memory, with a surrealist edge. Think early Lynch meets Wong Kar-wai. We’re looking for a director who can bring a strong visual voice and has a nuanced approach to performance. Key responsibilities include working closely with the producer, DP, and actors to realize the script's vision, leading rehearsals, blocking scenes, and guiding performances on set. You'll be instrumental in shaping the film's tone and visual aesthetic. While this is a volunteer position, it's a fantastic opportunity for an emerging director to helm a feature and get significant creative control. We welcome directors of all experience levels, from those making their first feature to seasoned filmmakers. A strong portfolio demonstrating your directorial vision, whether through shorts, music videos, or previous features, is essential. Please include a link to your reel. We’ll be providing all meals during production and you’ll receive a screen credit. This is a passion project for everyone involved, and we're looking for someone who shares that dedication.
