A coming-of-age drama about a young musician rediscovering her voice after personal tragedy. We are seeking a highly organized and passionate First Assistant Director (1st AD) for an independent feature film shooting in Chicago, IL. This is a passion project looking for dedicated individuals to join our small, enthusiastic crew. As 1st AD, you will be instrumental in scheduling, managing the set, and keeping us on track. Key responsibilities include creating and distributing call sheets, managing daily schedules, coordinating with all departments, and ensuring a smooth, efficient production flow. We're looking for someone with an entry-level understanding of set etiquette and production processes. While specific gear isn't required for this role, proficiency with scheduling software (e.g., Movie Magic Scheduling, SetKeeper) is a plus. Please share any relevant experience, even from short films or student projects, and a brief explanation of why this project interests you. This is a volunteer position, ideal for someone looking to gain significant feature film experience and build their network. We anticipate a shoot duration of approximately 15-20 days, mostly weekdays, beginning the last week of September 2026 and extending into October 2026. Craft services, water, and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided on set. Parking information will be shared closer to the shoot dates.
