Directing for Feature Film

Seeking an enthusiastic entry-level Director for an independent feature film shooting in Vancouver, BC. This is a paid position at $100-200/day, with approximate shoot dates in September 2026 for around 15-20 days. Our upcoming project is a grounded, character-driven drama with elements of magical realism, focusing on themes of memory and loss. We're aiming for a visually poetic and emotionally resonant tone, exploring the internal journey of its protagonist. You'll be responsible for leading the creative vision, guiding cast performances, and collaborating closely with department heads to bring the script to life. Key responsibilities include preparing shot lists, blocking scenes, working with actors to develop performances, and maintaining the overall artistic integrity of the film. We're looking for someone with a strong visual storytelling sense and excellent communication skills. Please submit a reel showcasing your previous directing work, even if it's short films or music videos, along with a brief statement of your artistic vision. We're looking for someone who can work efficiently within a limited budget and has a clear understanding of independent filmmaking challenges.
