Directing for Web Series

In a near-future Vancouver, a cynical data detective unravels a conspiracy spanning corporate espionage and climate change activism. We're an independent production seeking an experienced Director of Photography for a compelling new web series. This project blends gritty sci-fi with a grounded, atmospheric tone, drawing inspiration from shows like 'Devs' and 'Mr. Robot'. Your key responsibilities will include collaborating closely with the director to establish the visual language, overseeing lighting and camera operation, and ensuring a cinematic look within our independent budget. We're looking for someone who can bring creative solutions to technical challenges and is comfortable leading a small camera department. Applicants should have 3-5 years of experience as a DP, a strong reel demonstrating diverse visual storytelling, and ideally, familiarity with owner-operated camera packages (e.g., Blackmagic Pocket 6K or similar). We're particularly interested in DPs who own a basic lighting kit, though additional specialized gear will be rented as needed. The shoot is anticipated to be about 10-12 days of work, spread over a 3-week period, starting around October 6, 2026. Compensation is $150-300 per day, depending on experience and gear contribution.
