Director: Modern Drama Web Series, LA

Looking for a talented mid-level Director for an independent, character-driven web series, a modern drama with darkly comedic undertones. Our story explores the complexities of finding your voice in a stifling environment, aiming for a raw, intimate, and visually engaging style. We need someone who can translate nuanced performances and a compelling script into impactful storytelling, someone with a strong vision without ego. Key responsibilities include collaborating closely with cast and crew, guiding performances, making critical creative decisions on set, and overseeing the visual execution of our creative vision. You'll work with the DP to establish shot lists and overall aesthetic. Applicants should have 3-5 years of directing experience, ideally on short films, web series, or commercials. A strong reel showcasing your narrative capabilities and ability to evoke emotion is essential. Experience with independent productions and working within budget constraints is a plus. We are not looking for someone to provide their own gear; we have that covered. Shoot dates are approximately 10-12 days over 3-4 weeks, sometime in late summer/early fall in Los Angeles. This is a deferred compensation role with a backend percentage, ideal for someone looking to build their portfolio and be part of an exciting project with festival potential. Food and on-set support will be provided.
