Doc Screenwriter, Brooklyn (Volunteer)

We're on the lookout for a talented Screenwriter to join our independent documentary project. This film delves into the fascinating world of urban foraging in Brooklyn, exploring themes of sustainability, community, and reclaiming nature in an unexpected setting. We're aiming for a hopeful, intimate, and visually rich tone. Your primary responsibility will be to craft a compelling narrative structure, shaping interviews and archival footage into a cohesive and engaging story. This includes developing interview questions, outlining scene progression, and potentially writing voiceover scripts. We're open to all experience levels, from burgeoning talent to seasoned pros, as long as you have a strong storytelling sensibility and a passion for documentary filmmaking. While no specific gear is required, strong writing skills and a collaborative spirit are essential. Please share any writing samples or a link to your previous work. This is a volunteer position, but meals and a copy of the final film will be provided. Project approximate shoot/edit window is spring/summer, with flexible hours.
