Senior Screenwriter, Indie Feature (Psych Thriller)
Hey there, I'm a Production Designer on an independent feature film gearing up, and we're looking for a senior screenwriter to join our team. We've got a killer psychological thriller script (dark, character-driven with a twisty narrative, think early Fincher meets 'The Killing of a Sacred Deer') that needs a final experienced polish. This isn't a rewrite from scratch, but rather finessing dialogue, punching up certain scenes, and ensuring the story's emotional impact is fully realized. We're aiming for a tight, unsettling tone that keeps audiences guessing. You'll be working closely with the director and producer, bringing your narrative expertise to elevate the existing material. We need someone with a strong portfolio showcasing previous feature film screenwriting credits in the thriller or elevated horror space. A reel or writing samples that demonstrate your ability to craft compelling, nuanced characters and suspenseful pacing are essential. This is a crucial role for our upcoming project, so we're looking for someone who can hit the ground running. Compensation is $100-200/day, based on experience and proposed work schedule. We're looking at a 2-3 week engagement, potentially longer if good chemistry and further needs arise. We'll provide the script, clear creative direction, and a comfortable remote working arrangement with regular check-ins. Exact dates for principal photography are still being finalized, but this writing phase is happening now in Los Angeles.
