Screenwriting for Web Series
Hey Austin film fam, I'm a fellow screenwriter putting out a call for another writer to join an exciting independent production. We're developing a sci-fi web series with a dark, comedic tone, think early Black Mirror meets Silicon Valley. It's unique because we're aiming for a strong character-driven narrative within a high-concept world, really leaning into the absurdity of future tech. You'd be responsible for outlining episodes, writing episode drafts, and collaborating on story breaks with the creative team. We need someone who can hit deadlines and isn't afraid to take risks with their writing. Any experience level is fine, but a strong portfolio or sample of your narrative work (especially comedy or sci-fi) is essential. We're looking for someone who can work remotely, but Austin-based talent is a plus for occasional in-person meetings once safe. This is a paid position, $2000-3000 per week, for what we anticipate will be a several-month development period. Specific hours will be flexible but depend on hitting episode milestones. Let's make something awesome together! Please send your resume and writing samples to the contact email provided by the job board.
