Documentary Editor (Mid-level) Revenue Share
Seeking a talented and motivated mid-level editor for an upcoming independent documentary feature based in Toronto. This film explores the vibrant world of underground improv comedy, capturing both the electric energy of performances and the raw, personal stories of the comedians behind the mic. We've got compelling footage, a strong narrative arc beginning to emerge, and are looking for someone to help us craft a truly engaging and often humorous story. Your primary responsibility will be assembling raw footage, creating a rough cut, integrating music and sound design elements, and incorporating feedback to refine the final edit. Experience with long-form documentary storytelling is essential. You'll need your own editing workstation and software (preferably Adobe Premiere Pro). Please provide a reel demonstrating your documentary editing skills, especially showcasing your ability to build narrative and manage diverse footage. This is a partnership opportunity, offering a share in the project's revenue. We anticipate approximately 10-15 hours per week, with flexible scheduling, over a 3-4 month period. While the project is remote-friendly, occasional in-person meetings in Toronto will be valuable. I'm a Gaffer by trade, so I know the value of a solid crew, and I'm excited to collaborate with someone passionate about this story.
