Editor, Music Video - Toronto
Hey everyone, I'm helping a director find an editor for an upcoming independent music video project. It’s an energetic, synth-pop track with a really cool, retro-futuristic vibe we're going for. Think bright colors, strong visual storytelling, and a fast pace. We've got some great performance footage and stylized narrative elements that need to be woven together into something really dynamic. Your main responsibilities will be assembling the initial cut, incorporating feedback, and delivering the final edit. We're looking for someone comfortable working independently and bringing their own creative vision to the table within our established guidelines. You'll need your own editing setup (software like Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or Final Cut Pro X, and a capable machine) and a reel showcasing your prior editing work, especially on music videos or other short-form, high-energy content. This is an entry-level opportunity for someone looking to build their portfolio and gain experience on a fun project. Shoot wrapped last week, so we're aiming to start editing as soon as possible. The director is flexible on hours, but we're hoping for a pretty quick turnaround. Food and craft services will be provided during intensive editing sessions, and we'll cover any agreed-upon software rentals if necessary. Compensation is a backend percentage, an opportunity to share in the project's success.
