Entry-Level Doc Editor, Atlanta
Hey filmmakers, I'm looking for an entry-level editor for an upcoming independent documentary project in Atlanta. We're telling a powerful story about resilience in rural Georgia, focusing on a community's fight to preserve their local history. It's a character-driven piece, heartfelt and inspiring, with a naturalistic aesthetic. Your main responsibilities will include ingesting footage, assembling initial cuts, syncing audio, managing media, and implementing feedback. This is a great opportunity to get hands-on experience in documentary post-production and contribute significantly to a meaningful film. I’m looking for someone with a good understanding of Adobe Premiere Pro. You don't need a ton of professional credits, but a solid grasp of editing principles and a keen eye for storytelling are essential. Please have access to your own editing workstation (computer, software), though we can discuss shared storage solutions. A short demo reel or a link to any previous editing work (even student films or personal projects) would be very helpful to see your style. We anticipate this project will involve roughly 3-4 weeks of full-time work, likely starting late next month or early the following. We'll be working remotely for the most part, but with some in-person check-ins in Atlanta. This is a paid position, with a daily rate of $200-$400 depending on experience. Excited to see what you can bring to the team!
