Editing for Short Film

Hey filmmakers, I'm working as a Set PA on an independent short film and we're looking for a passionate editor to join our crew. This is a dramatic sci-fi project exploring themes of identity and memory, with a gritty, realistic tone. Think 'Arrival' meets 'Blade Runner' but on a micro-budget scale. We've got some really compelling footage and need someone skilled to help us weave it into a powerful narrative. Your main responsibilities will include assembling rough cuts, refining pacing and rhythm, integrating visual effects and sound design elements, and ensuring a cohesive final product. We're open to all experience levels, from students to seasoned professionals, as long as you have a strong storytelling sensibility and proficiency in industry-standard editing software (e.g., DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere Pro). While we don't have a specific gear requirement beyond your own editing workstation, a portfolio or reel showing your editing style would be great. This is a volunteer, passion project, so while there's no monetary compensation, it's a fantastic opportunity to collaborate on an exciting film, gain experience, and build your reel. We're aiming to begin post-production as soon as possible, with an approximate editing timeline of 4-6 weeks (flexible hours, mostly remote work). We'll provide all raw footage and a detailed script.
