Senior Editor, Narrative Feature Film
Hey everyone, Rachel here. I'm a documentary editor, and I'm putting out feelers for a senior editor to cut a really compelling independent narrative feature film, due to start principal photography this fall. It's a psychological drama with strong thriller elements, exploring themes of memory and identity. Think something along the lines of early Christopher Nolan meets a more character-driven A24 vibe. We're looking for someone who can really craft tension and emotional depth through their editing choices. Your main responsibilities will include assembling initial cuts, collaborating closely with the director on story and pacing, managing post-production workflows, and ensuring all sound and picture elements are prepped for final mix and grade. We're running Premiere Pro, so familiarity with that is a must. You'll need a strong reel showcasing your experience with narrative features, ideally some with similar genres. We're primarily looking for your artistic vision and technical proficiency, so you won't need to provide your own editing suite, we'll have a dedicated setup in our Brooklyn office. We anticipate a 10-12 week editing schedule, likely with some evenings, starting late October. This is a crucial role for our small production company, and we're excited to find the right artistic partner.
