Senior Editor, Arthouse Short Film

Hey folks, I'm Lucas, a gaffer here in Toronto. We're looking for a seasoned editor for an upcoming independent short film with an arthouse sensibility. Think atmospheric, character-driven drama with a touch of the surreal. We've got some really unique visuals and performances, and we need someone who can really craft a poetic narrative from the footage. Your main gig will be assembling the rough cut, refining the pacing, and working closely with the director to shape the final story. Experience with non-linear editing systems is a must, and a keen eye for subtle storytelling beats is crucial. We're looking for someone who's edited several short films or similar projects at a high level. Please have a strong reel that demonstrates your narrative abilities. Picture lock is anticipated for late summer, so we're looking at about a 4-6 week commitment. We'll be working out of a comfortable editing suite in the west end.
