Senior Editor, Short Film (Los Angeles, CA)

Hey everyone, I'm Frank, a Transportation Coordinator, currently working on an ambitious independent short film and we're looking for a top-notch Senior Editor to join our team. This is a suspenseful drama with psychological thriller elements, exploring themes of memory and perception. It's a character-driven piece with a strong visual style, offering some really interesting challenges in the edit. We're aiming for festival submission. Key responsibilities include assembling footage, crafting compelling story arcs, managing sound design integration, and collaborating closely with the director to achieve the film's artistic vision. We need someone highly skilled in pacing and visual storytelling. You'll need to provide your own editing suite and software. We're looking for someone with extensive experience cutting dramatic shorts or features, a strong portfolio, and ideally, experience working on independent productions. Please include a link to your reel showcasing your best narrative work. We anticipate approximately 10-15 days of editing spread across a few weeks, with flexible hours. We're offering a competitive daily rate of $1000-$1500. This is a paid position for a flat rate, not an hourly one. We provide all footage and pre-production materials.
