Editor, Web Series (Mid-Level)

Web Series Editing Toronto, ON mid Budget: TBD

Hey everyone, Kyle here. I'm a Colorist working on an exciting new independent web series and we're looking for a talented mid-level Editor to join our team. The series is a darkly comedic drama, a real character study with a fast-paced, urban vibe. Think gritty realism mixed with some genuinely hilarious moments. We've shot some fantastic material and really need an editor who can bring out the nuances in the performances and craft a compelling narrative flow. Your main responsibilities will include assembling raw footage, syncing audio, creating rough cuts, incorporating feedback from the director and producer, and preparing sequences for sound design and color grading (that's where I come in!). We'll also need you to manage project files and handle basic visual effects where necessary. You should have a strong understanding of narrative editing, pacing, and storytelling. Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro is a must, and familiarity with After Effects is a bonus. Please provide a demo reel showcasing your narrative editing work, particularly anything with dialogue or character-driven scenes. We're looking for someone who can work independently but also collaborate effectively. While we don't expect you to bring your own editing suite, having your own reliable workstation and software is definitely a plus. Shoot dates are mostly wrapped, so this role will primarily be focused on post-production, which we anticipate lasting about 6-8 weeks. Hours will be flexible, but we'll need consistent attention to the project. Compensation is TBD and will be discussed based on experience and commitment. Really looking forward to seeing your work!
