Entry-Level Screenwriter (Short Film, LA)

Seeking an enthusiastic, entry-level Screenwriter to join our independent short film project. We need someone who can hit the ground running, bringing a fresh perspective and solid storytelling skills to our team. This is a dramatic short, approximately 10-15 pages, exploring themes of resilience and unexpected connection in an urban setting. We're aiming for a grounded, intimate tone with moments of levity. This project offers a fantastic opportunity to get a produced credit on a compelling story. Your main responsibility will be to refine an existing story concept, develop character arcs, and craft engaging dialogue. We're looking for someone who can work collaboratively, incorporating feedback while maintaining the script's core vision. We need a writer with a basic understanding of screenplay formatting (Final Draft, Celtx, or similar). Please submit a writing sample, preferably a short film script or a scene from a feature. Experience on a set is not required, but a passion for storytelling and a willingness to learn are essential. We plan for script development and revisions through September 2026, with an estimated 2-3 weeks of focused work. This is a volunteer position offering credit and meals during any in-person meetings.
