Screenwriting for Commercial

Looking for a senior screenwriter to join our independent production, developing a commercial spot for a local New Orleans business. We need someone who can immediately jump into crafting a compelling, concise narrative with a comedic edge. The tone is lighthearted and energetic, aiming for broad appeal while capturing the unique spirit of the city. We're looking for a fresh, creative angle on a familiar product. This is a great opportunity to get in on the ground floor of an exciting project with significant potential for visibility. Your main responsibilities will involve concept development, scriptwriting (multiple drafts, obviously), and collaborating closely with the director and client. We're seeking someone with a strong portfolio of commercial or short-form comedic writing. Please have a solid reel demonstrating your ability to write punchy dialogue and engaging narratives. While no specific gear is required for writing, a reliable internet connection is a must. This role is deferred compensation, percentage-based, so we're looking for someone with a belief in the project's success. Expected work commitment is about 3 weeks of intensive writing and revisions, likely leading into pre-production in late August 2026. This is a remote position for now, but we'd love it if you were local to New Orleans for potential in-person meetings. We'll handle all production costs, you just bring the words.
