Screenwriter, Dark Comedy Short

A dark comedy about a disillusioned AI assistant who decides to solve humanity's problems by gently manipulating them into utter chaos. We're seeking a talented and experienced Mid-Level Screenwriter for an upcoming independent short film production. This project requires a writer with a sharp wit, a keen understanding of character development, and a knack for subversive humor to refine our existing concept and bring the script to a polished, shoot-ready state. Key responsibilities include collaborating closely with the director on story beats, character arcs, and dialogue, delivering multiple draft revisions, and ensuring the script is concise and impactful for a short film format. We're looking for someone who has previously written and seen produced at least 2-3 short films or similar narrative content. Please provide a link to your screenwriting reel or a portfolio of your work, including script samples. This is a freelance position, and we anticipate approximately 2-3 weeks of dedicated writing and revision work, primarily remote with occasional in-person meetings in Los Angeles, CA. The compensation is $1000-1500 per day, based on experience and scope of work.
